hi

do you guys know how to clear the history completely from safari?

for example i typed "cricket" in google.
i don wan it to appear anymore when i just type the letter c.
i want to clear all the history, and this spelling recognition.

anyone knows?

and will mac get affected by virus if i download video off websites like budui?

You can reset Safari which gives you many options. It is found in Safari - Reset Safari (IIRC not at my mac). Or you can press the little magnify glass icon on the left of the Safari google search bar and clear searches there.

You should be fine but if it asks you to install anything then I wouldn't (there was something that exploited a hole in Quicktime, but IIRC that has been fixed with a security update.)

You may want to install the following codecs though, Perianand Flip4mac

yeah the resetting of safari works=)

anyway so will there be any probs if i download movies from websites?
how to make sure virus will not be invited in or how to check if there are viruses?

or is mac that power that it cant have any?

sorry for my noob qns.

ive downloaded plenty of porn and movies from the net onto my mac and have experienced zero problem whatsoever. there's simply no need (at present time) for an anti-virus. just make sure you're downloading stuff from a credible source and you'll be fine.

If you're browsing a porn site (or any website really) and it tells you need to download and install a new codec, DON'T DO IT!

Quicktime exploit although I believe that was fixed by a security update. So make sure you have the latest security updates and if something pops up asking to be installed and you don't know what it is google it. It is good computing practise.

Thanks for your tips. I sure will be watching out.

you could just use private browsing in the safari tab and there is no history!
