How to stop safari home screen shortcuts to open in their own app?
Whenever I add any homes screen shortcut on my iPhone, it launches in its own window and all the links open in safari. Also, the own window of the shortcuts appear blank in app switcher.

This is really annoying. Any idea on how to force the shortcuts to open in safari every time?

I am using iPhone 6 running ios9.

That's interesting - I always thought this was a great feature. Rather than having to deal with closing tabs in Safari again and again after using a home screen web shortcut (which would need to open a new tab), I get one window where I do whatever I stored that shortcut for (a specific website), then leave it in the background like a regular app.

The shortcut-started views are also not blank in my app switcher.

Weird. I don't use this function but I just tried it. Mine open a new tab in safari.

No, i guess if there is a wap service of a website, it loads into its own shell, otherwise in safari tabs. For example: make a homescreen shortcut of appleinsider and it will then launch in its own window.

Yes that's correct. If the website in question functions as an HTML 5 web app it opens its own window.
