Finally figured out how to use iCloud tabs between multiple devices

How do you delete tabs, my iPad shows 1 tab open on the phone which is correct

But my iPhone shows I have 7 tabs open on my iPad which it doesn’t

On the phone I can click each one and select close but if I force close Safari on the phone they just return

I've had the same issue for about 6 months, affecting multiple devices within my iCloud account. Mac-Safari seems to be fine, but iOS14 as well as iOS15 devices show a different set of "open" Safari-tabs (that are long closed, but were open once) for the same machine.
In iOS14 you could swipe to close, in iOS15 you can try to long-press to close, but when the specific Mac is powered on the previously closed tabs reappear on the iOS device.
Quite annoying.
I was hoping this would be fixed in iOS15 and/or Monterey but it is still an issue.

There is a ”sort of” fix which includes the cumbersome signing out of ICloud, reboot and so on. It will clear the tabs, but within days or weeks new “ghost” tabs will appear and you have to start over.
Don’t bother trying to fix it, and just give up on the feature until Apple fixes it. I’m not sure they will though. It’s been a year, and they could‘nt give a rats a** when contacting support and feedback about the issue.
