When I’m on Safari for a few minutes, My iPhone 12 Pro on 14.6 gets hot on the back and subsequently drains the battery at an increased rate. Only when I force close Safari does the iPhone start cooling down and battery drain returns to normal after a couple minutes. Is this a known issue with iOS 14.6 or should I get this checked out with the Geniuses at Apple? Thanks.

My devices do not get hot.

Could be the web sites you are visiting (eg. watching videos, playing audio).

Without anything else to go on, tough to say.

Thanks for the reply. It happens with MacRumors which is what I mostly use Safari for. No videos or audio at all.

Try installing an ad blocker called Firefox focus from the AppStore and then enabling in Settings/Safari/ContentBlockers. Fixed the problem with the forums for me. No ads. No heating up.

I’ll check it out, thanks. I currently use the one with my eero plus subscription but I’m open to suggestions. Never had this issue until one of the earlier iOS 14 updates. I kept hoping each update would fix it thereafter.
