Before Mavericks my daily browser was Safari it consumed less energy than the others and even though it had some bugs it was working. But when I updated the computer to Yosemite Safari got crazy. It's not loading pictures on some websites (like Instagram or Facebook) and sometimes it doesn't even load the pages, it says "Safari can't load the page." while Chrome is loading those pages.

So if anyone encountered this problem before can they help me because it really drives me crazy...

Thank you in advance.

I have zero issues with Safari 8. Did a clean install of Yosemite (leftover habit from using WinDoze). No issues.

Mine is really great. It's pretty sleek and quick. My only problem now is the stupid dorm wifi at my university -_-

Is it doing the same thing that safari does in iOS 8 where the blue progress bar up top right below the address bar loads about 1/4th of the way and then hangs?

This happens to me on my iPhone and my Macbook running Yosemite. I think safari in iOS and 10.10 share some code and something isn't working properly with WiFi.

I am having a lot of the same problems. I can't connect to Google Docs! Certain pages won't open, and the pages mess up a lot! It's so bad I had to switch back to Chrome!

If you use Glims and if it's not a recent build, use the uninstaller that's provided by the developers. (There's a separate topic for Glims.)

Is the problem reproducible with extensions off in Safari?

Is the problem reproducible with OS X booted in safe mode?

I'm having very slow load times and hangs with Safari with Yosemite on my 2012 Mac Mini. I cleared cookies and history, changed DNS servers, reset the router and all but nothing seems to help. Firefox and Chrome are working nicely and seem 2x as fast but I'd prefer Safari. And as some have mentioned here, I'm also having this issue with Safari on my iPhone 8 and iPad air. Very frustrating indeed.
