I don't know what's wrong with Safari, but it is horrible. Yahoo and Safari do not get along. It crashes and freezes every time. I'm getting so frustrated with this. I'm using Chrome and there is no freezing or crashes but all my websites are on Safari so at times I do use it and always regret it. I hope this gets fixed.

Since your experience is not typical you need to supply additional information.

1. What computer are you using
2. What extensions have you installed
3. Do the problems occur if you boot into safe mode.
4. Any specific Yahoo function that fails? Mail, website?
5. Don't understand "but all my websites are on Safari". Websites are accessible by any HTML browser that you chose.

I'm on Monterey and have no problems so first guess is that the problem is an issue on your Mac.

I had a similar problem using Ecosia as default search engine. The results took 10 seconds to load.
The culprit was the AdBlock extension and the problem was resolved by disabling it for Ecosia from Safari – Preferences – Websites - Content Blockers, while the site was opened in Safari.

I use Yahoo! on Safari every day with no problems. It's not a Safari problem that you have. It's something specific in your configuration.

1. iMac (Retina 5k, 27 inch, late 2015), Processor 3.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5, Memory 8 GB 1867 MHz DDR3, Graphics AMD Radeon R9 M380 2 GB
2. I don't think I have any extensions maybe Grammarly, and capital one shopping.
3. I haven't done a safe mode boot.
4. My mail and then it just slows everything down and a notification pops up by the tab saying something about this site is using a lot of memory to close it.
5. I have lots of sites saved in Safari that I don't know how to have on Chrome.

I can check to see if I have an adblocker. I see that I have MacKeeper StopAd

I think the OP would like to be able to use Chrome to access the websites he's bookmarked in Safari. I suggest that he Google something like "sync Safari bookmarks with Chrome" for info about how to do this as a one-off import to Chrome from Safari, and also as an ongoing function of allowing Chrome access to his iCloud-stored Safari bookmarks. In addition, there's a (Chrome) extension which grants Chrome access to the user's MacOS keychain to automate entry of username/password website credentials.

Safari - Export a bookmarks file https://support.apple.com/guide/safari/import-bookmarks-history-and-passwords-ibrw1015/mac
“In the Safari app on your Mac, choose File > Export > Bookmarks.
The exported file is called “Safari Bookmarks.html.”

Chrome - Import bookmarks https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/96816
“Select Bookmarks and then Import Bookmarks and Settings.
From the drop-down menu, select Bookmarks HTML file.”
