I have latest Sonoma PB on two iMacs - 2020 Intel and M1.
On both Safari is quite jerky, lags when changing tabs, sometimes goes back on a web page by itself.
It is slightly worse on Intel iMac.

I always have about 30 tabs open.
I know it is a beta, I have been using them for few years so I am used to some bugs.

Haven't seen any post on this issue, do others have such issues?

Your problem is right there.

You don't need to have 30 tabs open if you're not using or reading 30 sites at the same time.

We have bookmarks to access sites. We have notification systems so that we can be pushed alerts without the need to have an app or site open. This makes our systems efficient and snappy to use.

Many open tabs were never a problem and that is happening only after updating to Sonoma.

It's always a problem to be inefficient with resources whether it is a computer or any kind of appliance.

People hate being told to use things efficiently. People hate being told they shouldn't render 3D scenes on a MacBook Air and then complain about slowness, or buy a 5 bedroom house for a family of three and then complain about the costs, or drive an SUV to buy groceries two blocks away and then complain about pollution and gas prices.

ny somewhere
you're on an OS beta; perhaps it will be better by the time sonoma officially drops. either way, if 30 tabs is eating up resources... it's eating up resources. anyway, see how things go over the remaining betas....
