Out of no where today Safari is going extremely slow!

It keeps showing the rainbow circle every 8 seconds for 5 seconds.

It is unusable. I am currently using Chrome and it works much better.

Anyone know how to troubleshoot? I cleared all the cache and history but still no luck :(

Do you have any extensions enabled? If so, try disabling them one at a time and see which, if any, are causing issues.

I have 2 adblock extentions installed.

When I disabled them Safari stopped showing the spinning rainbow. I re-enabled and it seems stable now. But it is still a little slow, but atleast the freezing stopped.

Thanks!

Are you using Adblock Pro? I was and was experiencing the same slowness as you. I have since replaced it by AdBlock (not the Pro) and since then Safari is a little race horse!

If you are using your mac at home and really want to get rid of ads on all your devices, consider getting a router on which you can install a recent version of DD-WRT and run a Privoxy transparent proxy to block all your ads inside your network.

This has begun happening to me suddenly too. I haven't been doing anything different, so it's especially puzzling.
