Ugh, this is getting on my nerves. Safari is constantly showing the error:

"This webpage is using significant memory. Closing it may improve the responsiveness of your Mac."

I have only logged into one page to work, and it appears very quickly while doing so. Interestingly, doing the same thing while using Brave or Edge, I have no issues.

Is this a MacOS or Safari Issue? Any suggestions other than sticking with alternative browsers?

i would restart, zap the pram
or empty the cache first
i had that on CBS sports 2 weeks ago during the ncaa's
and those things i did worked.

and Safari 14 won't stream HBO and other sites like that anymore.

i hoped this helped!

Not helpful but saw your message glanced over at the same message on my other screen then looked into what it was actually using...

Checking activity monitor:

That's less than 5% of my 64GB....

I'd call that an erroneous message that means literally nothing.

Thank you, interesting. However, if I ignore the message the Safari window will go black and reload after a while so something is happening.

This message has been popping up for literally years. I liken it to a memory leak. It still happens with even 32G of RAM so throwing more memory at it won’t help.

It's a Safari issue ... We've developed some apps and web pages and Safari's limited memory management is a nightmare. We got constant memory messages during testing. Pages that are a problem in Safari work well in Chrome. Personally, if you need a better browser try Chrome.
