After updating both my Macbook and Mini to 11.3 yesterday, Bookmarks that were kept neatly in a folder were no longer kept in that folder. The folder had been deleted and every Bookmark was no listed on my Favorites Bar. I could recreate the folder while the browser was open, tidy everything up and it would sync to all devices. Problem Solved? Nope. Once I close the browser and reopen it, the Folder is deleted once again and each Bookmark is again spread across the entire Favorites Bar.

To troubleshoot, I turned off iCloud sync. Exported and deleted the Bookmarks plist file. Created just a folder with nothing in it. Closed Browser. Folder was deleted. I can add new Bookmarks and they are not deleted, but I no longer have the option to organize with Folders.

Anyone? Help!

I've not made the switch yet. I so hope they didn't kill Favorites Bar Folders. I have about 10 Folders and it would sure make it much harder to access the items.

I tried making a new bookmarks folder, put it in the Bookmarks menu. Made another new folder, and moved that to Favorites, so it shows up in the Safari menubar, as usual.
Quit Safari, re-opened, and both bookmark folders remained where I left them.
(I am on the current 11.4 beta, so maybe that makes a difference  )

I'm having the same problem with the iOS update to 14.5. Bookmark folders that used to show up when opening a new Safari window, or when placing a cursor in the address bar, no longer are visible. So the only way to navigate to bookmarked pages is via the bookmark symbol at the bottom of the Safari screen. This really is invonvinent.

Fixed. That was a bit of a cluster. I could no longer have a Folder called Favorites in the Favorites List. I deleted all History, Cleared Cache through Developer menu. Then created a folder called Bookmarks in Favorites. Reimported bookmarks from plist and moved into Bookmarks folder. Quit Safari to be sure the folder was still there when I reopened. It was. Re-added Safari to iCloud and when I reopened, all the reorganized Bookmarks came back to the Favorites Bar. Deleted them all and all was fixed. Convoluted but it worked.

My Reading List icons on the Safari Home Page has been reduced to a few rows. All of the things I saved are still in the sidebar menu, but my Safari Home Page only will show twelve icons from the list. It is the first twelve.
