Ran into an odd one today on the release version of Sonoma. Safari no longer allow me to connect to my Synology with a privately signed https cert. Clocking Safari no longer allows "If you understand the risks, you can visit this website," results in a simple page reload.

I have not been able to override this. Any idea, what is going on?

Same problem. It behaves as if I had hit the Back button. Cleared all extensions, caches, prefs. Tried Safe Boot. No workaround. Another account on the same system works.
The Safari Tech Preview has the same problem.

I‘m not seeing a change in how Safari works in Sonoma with regard to improperly secured sites. I still have the option to continue to an unsafe site. What happens if you make a new user account on your computer and try the site from there?

I had similar behavior when going to my cable modem, but at some point Safari relented and I was able to access it.

What I might have done to gain access, I don't know. But I also saw the warning page reload behavior for some time.

ETA: note, this was on Safari 17.0, but not on Sonoma - I haven't upgraded the OS yet.

Apparently, this is controlled by objects in the System User Directory database. I have a second Administrator user and logged into it to rename my Home directory. Logging back in will generate a fresh one, but the problem was still there.

I logged back into the Administrator and deleted my account. Note that my real home directory was userX.

I then generated a new one making sure it had the same User ID I had before (mine are always 501, the first user on the system.) Logging back in the problem was solved.

I had to log back into iCloud, reestablish Touch ID and wallet, etc. But the problem was gone.
This is the second time I had to do it. The first time several system apps like TV and Podcasts were "not valid" due to permanent quarantine keys also somehow held in relation to that db.
