Anyone know how to fix this? Safari plays HTML 5 video but there is no audio. When I switch to flash player on youtube there is audio. But on pages with HTML 5 video like the Verge, no audio.

No it's not that. I think there is a bug with Safari and HTML 5 audio. There are a couple of threads on apple support with people complaining but the solution is to switch YouTube back to Flash mode. Which works for YouTube, but for sites that aren't youtube that have HTML 5 embed video- the audio doesn't work.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Anyone find a solution to this? I have 4 Macs in the house, all on 10.8 (all fully updated). Only my MacBook Pro has this problem. My iPhone and iPad and PC computers are fine as well. Even Firefox ON THE PROBLEM MacBook Pro can play the audio correctly. It is unique to Safari.

I have tried resetting it...no use. Other profiles on the same machine have the same problem...so it's not preference/profile specific. I do NOT have the YouTube HTML5 pilot cookie (agian, I reset Safari, and then went the additional step of erasing all the cookies that the reset didn't clear.)

youTube works fine for me but not other sites with .mp4's...no audio (in safari). I have flip4mac installed and it worked before but not anymore...even if I download the .mp4 to my hard drive....still no audio....but it works fine in chrome.
