good move... it's a really good browser and now windows users will now have the benefit of using it.

Progress made by Firefox at gaining marketshare from IE, now with Safari in the mix, it should get quite interesting...

As a web designer, I get wound up with the awful design of IE... so I'm glad to be able to tell a windows user they can have Firefox or Safari... :)

Indeed! I've already checked out my website in Safari 3.0 (Win) - and "it just works" :D

I found it to be a bit slow for my liking on windows at work... I do use an older machine, but that should make too much difference. It also is just a replica, and several preferences are missing... so I'll wait a little while longer before completely switching... however I'll use it on my mac no probs.

Bizarrely Yahoo Mail beta seems to run fine on Sarari 3 on XP, but still won't run on Safari 3 Mac....

Doesn't work for me at all...... crashes when I start it. So many people reporting problems, can't believe Apple released such a shoddy piece of software, Windows users will just uninstall it and forget about it.

see to me it just does not work well on my windows computer. It is clearly just a port from OSX and has a lot of issues. I was going to make it my backup browser for FireFox but after playing with it for a while I had to go back to IE 7 for my back up browser because IE 7 workes a hell of a lot better.

Things that Safari messed up on is you can only re size the windows from the bottom corner. Poor move there since it really needs to be able to be done by all sides. Plus it needs to be something better than just a quick port over. In making it a quick poor quality port apple is doing themselves more harm than good.

It will never replace FireFox on my windows box because it does not have the extension FireFox has and that what makes FireFox great is all the little extensions

Remember, it's Beta software. I haven't had many problems with it but it did crash once.

I wish I could call it a beta but it not even that. A beta program means one that is near being completed and it is just fine tuning. Safari for windows I would call a late stage ALPHA program because it having issues no beta should have. Safari is still in the Alpha stages here and is not ready for mass beta testing yet.

I'm using it right now, downloaded yesterday. It really is impressive that it is actually as peppy as they said yesterday in the keynote... It leaves FireFox in the dust (and IE miles behind) as well as the other browsers i have tried in the past such as Opera.

I'm torn about switching completely to have Safari as my default because of all the saved passwords i have in FireFox but as i surf more and more i keep getting drawn in. It's super speedy, stable, and it *feels* just like im actually using a Mac (sigh) :) . I do, however, feel that Firefox handles downloads slightly better because it gives you options as to what you want to do with the file flat out, to do that in Safari you must click "download linked file as" ... a bit extra of a step.

Also since this forum actually works under Safari that also may sway things, under FireFox i keep getting this weird error message whenever i try to access http://www.forums.macrumors.com by clicking the forum button or typing it.

KGO....

So i don't know what's up with that...
