Brand new to Mac and have not tried either browsers. Which of the two do you prefer?

I have noticed that there is NO perfect browser for OS X. Some sites work best with different browsers.

Good call paperinacup. I wouldn't limit it to OSX though, I'd argue the same thing for Windows.

By the way, I find Safari to be perfectly adequate for me.

I find safari to be the best, overall. Camino is my second choice because it's so blazing fast... but I do love my spell check in safari. Nothing wrong with Firefox, but I just don't think it has quite as many nice features as safari and camino.

Safari is all I need except for the occasional IE only site, then I use Opera :D.

On windows, Firefox is the best for sure, so if you want the same browser on both platforms get it.

Safari is very basic compared to Firefox, which can be customized out the wazoo. It really is a matter of preference, they are both good browsers.

I just went to Safari after using Firefox for a while. I have to say I like Safari a lot better, its faster and cleaner in my opinion.

I have started using Opera since it became free. I have tried every browser and used them extensively from optimized Camino builds to the Firefox 1.5 beta. Opera has proven the most stable and quickest on my computer.

Camino ~ speed/Mac feel
Safari ~ OS X intergration
Opera ~ most built-in features with speed and stability

Just my $.02. :)

I have 5 browsers

I have 5 browsers installed but really only use Camino. For my tastes it is fast, easy on the eyes and very stable. Safari is O.K., but reminds me of IE. FireFox isn't even my second choice, too PC like for me. My second choice is Mozilla.

Can't forget Firefox! ~ customizability, open-source and 1337! :p

llama

BUT in other areas, if you post something someone has asked before i guaretee some one will say..."look in the search forums, this topic has been covered before"!
