so safari is cool and all, but i've been finding little problems with it. first, jpegs and pdfs automatically download rather than display within the browser. is there any way to change that? second, when i try to print, the text size comes up 2-3 times what it is on the screen, and text is formatted into only half of the page.

other software problems: when i close itunes, sometimes it automatically opens up again (i think this is because i'm sharing or running itunes related things in konfabulator). i want to associate all .avi to open with VLC default, and i have no idea how to do that.

any help?

I also have the same printing problem with Safari, really annoying when you get 10 pages for something that should be one.

If you click on an .avi file in the finder and go get info (Command - I) then in the open with drop down select VLC then click Change All this is the way that I usually do it and it works fine...

I find it better having pdf's opening up in Preview. preview is really and I just personally don't like having them in the browser. JPEG's automatically come up in the browser for me

by opening in preview..do u mean just viewing or having it downloaded on ur desktop and then seeing it with preview...
coz whenever i click some pdf file it automatically downloads on mydesktop....
do u know how to change that?

It automatically downloads to my desktop and then automatically opens with preview.

You can just the default download location by going to Safari --> Preferences then selecting general
it's half way down, auto open thing right beside it

Good luck

As to the pdf problem, this seems to work rather well

As to the print problem, the only solution I've found is to download Camino and while in Safari, select the URL, click on Services in the Safari menudar, and then open URL in Camino. Then Print from that.
