What I'd like to do:

Have a webpage that's compatible with "Reader" save as a pdf in my dropbox filer. This is nice, so that I can save the articles that I want to read later on my iPad in a nice Reader format.

This can be done manually by:
- opening the reader
- click the print icon
- click PDF
- click save as pdf
- select dropbox folder

Is there a way that this can all be automated by applescript, or something similar? Changing the function of the print icon in reader to perform all these steps automatically would be awesome :)

Can I make a suggestion that works a little differently, but I think the end result is much better. Open a free account at Readability and install their bookmarklet in the Safari bookmark bar. When you are on a page you want to read later, just click the bookmarklet and the page will be saved in a text format to your Readability account.

Then install the Readability app on your iPad. When you open the app all the articles you marked earlier will be available to read from the iOS app. You can open them while at home on wifi so they are cached to read later.

Offline Reade App

I found this app that does pretty much what reader does, but seems to do even better... not a way to print in pdf yet though...

So no point in it but to try a way out with it as it may be more flexible than safari, maybe using it in conjunction with a PDF printer...

Save safari reader to pdf

Hey fellas

I spent ages looking for a way to do this too, finally just found one.
You need a jailbroken ipad or iPhone.
Open cydia, search for printify

This will allow you to look at a page in reader, then click print, but gives you the option to save it, or open it with another app.. I use Dropbox. It saves as PDF, and saves it exactly now you view it in reader.

App is only $2 too

Hope this helps
