Hello

Yes, but that is not my question here, I much prefer Safari if I can get it to work.
I'd recommend Chrome. It honestly operates, in my opinion much more efficiently than Safari.

I mean I like them both. I just think Apple changed Safari a little bit since the old days and now not as good as it used to be.

Anyway, good luck.

Guys

iMac i3 2010 build, OSX Yosemite 10.10.5, Safari 9.0.3; too many beach balls requiring restarts, what can I do about this?
Is it only Safari you are having issues with? No other apps or anything are hanging or not launching properly?

Do you have any extensions installed in Safari?

While you are in Safari click the Safari menu in the menu bar then select Preferences. Then look for the tab for Extensions.

Guys

Why can't Apple create a competent browser? I am still seeing problems.

Deleting Safari extensions may have helped some, I can fix some of the lockups by just quitting and restarting Safari. Any other suggestions are appreciated.

Sorry if I'm being annoying but have you taken it to the Apple Store?

Usually when there is a problem associated with something Apple themselves makes (like safari) The Genius staff can fix it.

Hello

I am never annoyed by someone being helpful. I have not been to Apple as the problem can take hours to appear. What I should do is drop in and talk to them, see if they have any ideas for me.

This is bizarre

After experiencing three or four Safari lockups every day for months, I was deciding to use Chrome for a few days to see if I liked it. I did a bookmarks import from Safari to Chrome, and then ran just Chrome for an hour, which I found awkward due to lack of familiarity. I switched back to Safari, and have had no problems in eight hours of use.I have no idea what could have changed, any ideas?

Guys

I have logged maybe twenty hours of Safari usage with only one lockup, that is pretty good. All I did was import my Safari bookmarks into Chrome, and I used only Chrome for a couple of hours. Why Safari started working, I have no idea! My routine now is to close Safari every morning, start Chrome and use it for a minute, close Chrome and continue the rest of the day with Safari. What has changed I have no clue.
