When I enter a search into the Safari address bar (set up for Google) it works fine. But afterwards if I want to add something to the search term, Safari automatically adds 'https://' before my text. So for example, I search for 'Apple' and hit enter. Google results display. Then I click back onto the address bar and hit the space bar so I can add the word 'Pie' after the word 'Apple' and right when I hit the space bar the prefix 'https://' is added before the word 'Apple'. Is there a way to turn this off?

I am using OS 10.9.5 and Safari 9.1.3

Thanks!
