I’ve been having this problem in iOS 15 on both my iPhone and iPad where if I start to type a frequently-visited URL, Safari will show that site in the URL bar as if it knows I want to go to that URL, but then when I press enter, it actually searches for what I typed instead of taking me to the actual URL.

For example, if I were to start typing “ma” in the Safari search/URL bar, macrumors.com will show up as if Safari knows I want to go to that site, but if I hit enter/go too fast, it sends me to DuckDuckGo (my preferred search engine) with the results for “ma” instead of taking me to MacRumors.com.

It’s very frustrating as this is usually a very fast way for me to get to websites but it defeats my flow and efficiency if I have to take a pause for it to work correctly. I never had this problem with past versions of iOS.

Has anyone else been experiencing this?

Maybe one of these settings:

(It works the way you want it to, on my end. So I don’t know if it’s related or not).

Thank you. My settings are the same except I had Preload Top Hit on. Though, I would think that having it on would make it more likely to work properly. I’ll see if having it off fixes it. Thank you!
