Safari & secure sites

My desktop has started acting weirdly. Every time I try to go to a secure site--such as my account on Amazon, my bank account, or even email--it tells me it cannot. I haven't changed any preferences, but maybe there's something I'm missing. Ideas?

What error are you getting? Do they work ok in Firefox/Opera etc..?

Before getting too deep into looking for broken stuff, check your system clock (date way off, and automatic time updates not set). That will break secure sites.
