I created a shortcut out of Safari to Google to make it my home page, I would like it to re-open my last instance each time instead of a new page, is there any way to do this or a different way to achieve it outside of task switching?

If you created a shortcut, it will open to where that shortcut points, not to where you were when you closed the app.

From what I can see, there's no way to have a customized home page when opening the default Safari app without using a shortcut, is that correct? That being the case, the shortcut will always open in a new window.
