Strange issue here, actually been happening since at least Catalina. Sometimes, when using safari, the browser will arrive at a page, and then will highlight the sidebar button. Nothing has been clicked, no keys touched. Just selected a bookmark, or typed a page URL, wait for page to load, and then seemingly at random, the sidebar button will be highlighted. It's driving me up the wall. Anyone else seeing similar behavior, and/or know how to stop it?

I haven't seen that behavior. If it bothers you though, why not just remove that icon via View > Customize Toolbar?
