Hello guys. I have two computer.

1) Windows 7 - Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB of 300 MHz RAM, 5.400 rpm 250GB HDD.

2) rMBP - Intel Core i7, 8GB of 1600 MHz RAM, SSD

Is it normal that Chrome on my old Windows 7 is waaay faster than Safari on my rMBP?

Thanks.

Yes, that's ok. Chrome is developed to be very fast. and the specs of your computers allow it.

What do you mean by slow? Your Mac should render pages nearly instantly, assuming that the data has been retrieved. I suspect that you have a network issue. The first thing that I would do is compare your results on speedtest.net.

OP, if you bothered to look at some Google comparisons, you would have know that chrome is good in some area's and Safari is better at others. So What. Mine is just fine, and like it over Chrome. By the way, I like my Mac much better than my old PC with windows ;) :D

What? LOL so windows is faster than Mac?

Actually, yes it is. In a big big way. Install Windows 8 on your machine and see how it feels even faster than 7. It's definitely disappointing to see for a (I suppose former) huge Apple fan such as myself.

In some cases, yes, it is. I've come to realize this by using Boot Camp. On the exact same hardware, with the OS as the only variable, Windows 7 does outperform Mountain Lion on some tasks.

Video plugins are where I've noticed the biggest difference. Flash and Silverlight consistently stutter and cause fan overdrive while running OS X. Under Windows 7, on the same machine, they run flawlessly. I don't know who is to blame for this. It may very well be that Adobe and Microsoft have simply not done well in writing the Mac versions of these plugins. But it doesn't matter to me who is at fault when I'm trying to enjoy a video. I know that if I want a flawless experience, I'd better boot into Windows. That's just the hard fact proven over and over again by my MacBook.

Plugins aren't the only area where there is a difference, though. I've also noticed that my Mac will sometimes stutter when I'm typing into a web browser, even in the address bar. It takes a moment for the display to catch up with what I've typed; it has a little hiccup. I've come to accept this as a rare and temporary condition. The thing is, this NEVER happens when I'm running Windows. Never.

My knowledge of the intricacies of operating systems is nil. I often prefer using OS X. However, I can't dismiss the evidence of my own experience. It is often the case that Windows outperforms OS X on the same hardware.

Another point to keep in mind is that all Retina Macs have to load double resolution pages. One would expect that to take a bit more time than loading the standard page.

What do you mean by windows is faster? I am curious about the specifics. Is it the time to completely render the page, the smoothness of scrolling, video play back? The speed test that you sent was not particularly fast. Are your results the same on Windows and OS X?
The only area that I see my iMac lagging behind my Windows 8 partition is with the Flash plugin. The optimizations of a third party plugin have little to do with OS. Flash is simply not well optimized for OS X.
Outside of Flash, if you are seeing an old core duo 2 machine out perform an i7 something is wrong.
