Safari stopped remembering pw and un

Make sure Names and Passwords is toggled in Settings—>Safari—>Autofill.
That would turn off during some updates for me and cause usernames and passwords to not appear in Safari.
Names and passwords was toggled on. Any other ideas?
I'm still within Costco's 90 day return period and I think I'm just going to return it, the 12.9 IPad Pro that is. This is my first Apple device and I've more or less learned to use it but have been continually frustrated with typing on the onscreen keyboard, and worse, editing what I type, compared to Android which was no great bargain itself, and now this may be the straw that broke the camel's back.
Sorry you are having a bad experience. When did you notice it stop remembering passwords? If you tell a website not to remember a password for the site, it will subsequently stop remembering your info for that site.

Oh sure I know that. No, that's not it. It's everyplace, every website, now and it started yesterday. Every time I return to a website now, even if I just clicked off it a second ago, I have the reenter my info.
I'm on the phone now with Costco's "Concierge" expert, and she said that if she can't figure it out she'll transfer me to Apple's expert, tho the only time I spoke to an Apple expert, on the first day when I tried to ask them if the tablet I got was really the 2017 model and not the older model, they couldn't even figure out how to answer that (Yes it is the '17 model).

What do you mean by nasty autocorrect and horrid cursor? Some keyboard/dictionary options could be changed in settings. Also, third party keyboards can be used.That was it! You're great. Thank you! Apple autocorrect seems to "correct" what I don't want it to correct and not correct what I do.

I've played with that but haven't found anything that works well for me so far.

I've tried some of them, but likewise, none seem to work very good for me. Also my Ipad seems to automatically revert to the default keyboard
I just learned one "secret" trick about holding two fingers on the keyboard to manipulate the cursor but I haven't played with it much yet. It seems to be of limited use. So far I've found that manipulating the Android cursor to edit was much more efficient, likewise the spelling correction.
[doublepost=1509387048][/doublepost]Another problem I have with the Apple onscreen keyboard is that on most keys I can toggle to the character on the top of the key by holding it down, which is what you'd expect, but then sometimes, but not always, that doesn't work, especially with the "@/2" key. On that one I have to both hold down the key AND swipe it down to get the @ symbol. That's annoying.
