Has anyone noticed a slight stutter when scrolling in safari after installing Monterey? I have an M1 MacBook Air. Am I imagining things?

I began noticing stuttering in Safari 14.x. And it still exists in Safari 15.1.
Nowadays Chrome is much smoother.

Heh.. Safari 13.X was buttery smooth..

I'm not sure if the issue I had was the same as yours.
I noticed a strong flickering when playing fullscreen videos (mostly when I play Youtube fullscreen) on my external monitor.
The issue disappeared when I turned off variable refresh rate for my external monitor.

Looks like this is just a bad version of Safari for some of us that will get fixed with an update. 15.1 didn't do a thing for me. I just hope the update happens soon. I'm falling back on Firefox for now.

Yes, on 2020 iMac 5K (though not as much as Chrome). Though not on M1 Air.

Safari was very smooth on Big Sur 11.6 on the iMac.

can confirm, getting stuttering on safari. M1 Pro 16" MBP. Apple needs to get their act together with all these bugs... they keep getting a free pass with lackluster software nowadays

I can concur. A lot of times it'll happen to me on forms where the page doesn't entirely load initially but then as you scroll down it loads further which is by design. However with the latest update it will often time out and require me to refresh the page If I want to keep scrolling down.

I have the same problem! 16" MBP M1 Max. Are y'all using external monitors? I notice is mainly when my MBP is closed and I'm using an external via USBC.

Haven't noticed the same issue with other browsers, but I much prefer using Safari. Might go the Firefox route for a while. Doesn't seem to matter how "complex" the website is - even simple text websites still stutter when scrolling. I thought it was a problem with my mouse for a while!
