Weird one going on here...

All of a sudden, today, Safari is forgetting some of the username and password fields which it used to happily pre-populate for me. Some sites still work, but others do not.

I've tried removing the listing for the sites that don't work in preferences, and when I log in, it does not pop up the usual "Hey, you want me to remember this?" prompt.

I've checked out my keychain in Keychain Access, and everyting appears fine. Tried to repair permissions, but there were none that needed repairs. I've also tried rebooting a few times to see if it's something that could be cleared up that way.

Anyone seen this before, or have any ideas how to get this back up and running properly?

how much hardrive space do you have left? sometimes when you are running low on space your computer will trash preferences to make more room available

According to the Finder, 6.96 GB are presently free, so that shouldn't a problem... all of my other Safari preferences appear to be intact.

Sorry, no help here. I have the same problem, though. Mine is on a small scale. It's intermittent, and hasn't left any clues as to it's source.

Try deleting your keychain. I know under Jaguar that used to happen to me. Perhaps your keychain became corrupted?
