I have iPad 10.5 with iOS 11.2 and mac mini on El Capitan. The useful function that the tabs of other devices appear it the tab overview does not work between those (but work fine between the mac mini and the iPad Air on iOS 10.3. Is this normal, because the OS numbers are too far apart or can I change this somehow? Thanks in advance for any hints.

Yes, I think that’s normal.

Is there any reason the mini doesn’t have High Sierra installed?

I do not need the new features and I am afraid of problems, since some have them with HS. I boot from external SSD and do not know, if HS is handling that properly. I will upgrade later in the year before the next OS comes, because security updates will stop for El Capitan.

I had issues with safari tabs during the summer beta period when my phone was updated but my Mac wasn’t, so I think the only solution is to upgrade.
