I use Safari as my main browser just for its cleaner look than Edge.

But the tabs in Safari look longer, bigger, and wider.

Is there a way to make the tabs look more compact in size?

I don't get the "longer" part. Does it protrude the browser window? Maybe you can post a screenshot?

Go to your System Preferences for Safari and see if any of the TAB options changes the look for you. I think that might be the only place TABS appearances are adjusted.

Err, would be really nice if Safari allowed a 'max' tab width. Coming from Chrome, having one tab be the whole width of the screen... two dividing it in half... 3 into 3rds... like, why? Chrome has a max width that is sensible and if you open 50 tabs they will shrink. Every time I close a tab in Safari there's so much movement as the tabs resize. I can open 10-12 tabs in Chrome before they need to change size (shrink). This is dizzying and seems to serve no point.
