Since upgrading to macOS 15.4 yesterday, which came with Safari Version 18.4 (20621.1.15.11.10), I noticed that if I select a tab in a different tab-group, that tab will reload from the server before it displays. Selecting different tabs within the same tab group does not do this.
This is particularly annoying for instances where you may have a web form partially filled out in one tab group, go to another tab group, and then return, as the page-reload will (in many cases) completely erase anything you may have written.
That happened here, as I was posting this comment...as a test, I selected another tab in another tab group, then came back to this tab, and sure enough, this comment was vanished. Thankfully, the forum software saw I had a draft that was saved and allowed me to continue, but, a lot of sites don't or can't do that.
This is new behaviour, and I'm not sure if there's a way to work around it.
Looks like this is also the behaviour in the Safari Technical Preview (Release 215 (Safari 18.4, WebKit 20622.1.6.111.4)) - and I probably should have noticed it there first...
Anyone else notice this? Seems pretty consistent and only came about after yesterday's upgrade to 15.4.
