I've looked around, and can't seem to find anyone else with a similar problem on here. If this has been done before, please just redirect me and close the thread. And I appologize in advance.

I just started having this problem this morning. deviantART will not load in safari. I checked all my preffs, and they were normal. I restarted, that didn't help. I tried going there on IE :( and it loaded. So far, dA is the only site I've had a problem with, which has really gotten me confused. If anyone knows whats going on please help. Thank you!

lol yea they must have been. cuase theyre back up now... very odd how i could connect in IE and my friend could connect too, but I couldn't with safari, maybe they were changing codes or soemthing since it works now. lol thanks anyway

I'm surprised that by now you haven't already sweared in three different languages.

DeviantART's site functionality is more of a ride in bumper cars than it should be. Their website has had severe "issues" since I joined almost a year ago (in fact one of the DA admins has an entire webpage dedicated to the site's [mal]functionality and the problems that still haven't been resolved in the last three months). Which means, in the following few months of [attempting to] fix these still persistant issues, you will experience more bumps in the road as the weather gets worse.

Speaking of which, we already have about 1.5 feet of snow, and we're expecting another half a foot.

By default IE serves pages out of its own cache, unless the page has set an explicit "expires" header (most don't). I would guess that's the issue - assuming your friend had checked the site within the past few days of course.

I run into this at work a lot, under somewhat different circumstances. People ask me to make an update on a Web page, then report "I don't see the change yet! When's it going to be done?" The solution is to open up the preferences and select "Every time" on the option that says "Check for a newer version of Web pages..." (the default is "automatically", which really doesn't work well). Or you can just hit "reload". :)

Deviantart ****ing Sucks!

**** Devianart, their site's always down. Besides, Their comunity has more flamers than AOL.

[mod. edit - Don't circumvent the profanity filter.]
