Hey guys:

Couple of questions.

1. I've swtiched from PC to Mac not long ago and i use firefox mostly. Lately i've been getting accustomed to Safari but I was wondering how do you add a bookmark?? Under my "Bookmarks" menu I can add bookmarks to the "Bookmarks bar" but I can't add anything below it, you know what I mean? I was wondering how you would do this and how you could had a folder. I did add one when I went to "Show all bookmarks" but I can't access it from the Bookmarks menu bar.

2. Should I stick to Firefox or do you guys prefer safari?

I LOVE Safari, i use firefox only for the few sites that dont seem to like Safari but will work with FireFox.

To add bookmarks i would add the "add bookmark" button to your toolbar

Click View then "Customize Address Bar" you will get the screen i posted here then you can drag the "add to bookmarks" button on to your toolbar.

Good Luck
Ed

You can drag it to the bookmarks bar and move if somewhere else later by going to the bookmarks page.

If you want to make a folder inside the bookmarks bar, click on the plus sign in the left-hand column of the bookmarks page, and give your new folder a name. Then, click on the Bookmarks Bar folder (should be at the top of the left-hand pane) and then drag the new folder you just created over to the right-hand pane. You can position it however you like.

Once you have the folders in your bar, you will be able to drag links right into the bar's folders (they'll be highlighted with ovals when you have your mouse in the right spot).
2. Should I stick to Firefox or do you guys prefer safari?
They're both pretty good browsers, but both have their problems. Try living with both for a while and see what grows on you.

I'll be honest...the main reason I use Safari is because it looks so good, even if the brushed metal look is getting old. I will be so overjoyed come Leopard when everything, included Safari, has the iTunes look.

I always hated FireFox. If you like the look and feel of Safari, give something called Shiira a try. It takes Safari and makes it *that* much better. Once you try it, you wont go back. ;)

I kinda like Camino and Firefox (haven't tried Shiira but it looks nice) but still tend to favour Safari simply for its RSS features that I'm pretty addicted to. The tie-in between Safari and Growl means that I'm always notified of when new articles are available when Safari is running in the background and for that reason alone I keep returning to Safari. Camino is nicer than Firefox (I think) but there is a bug in the Flash plug-in that prevents copy/paste using Command+C/Command-P combinations (I opened that as a bug and the developers are trying to sort it out at the moment, which is nice). Firefox I support for the simple reason that it is cross-platform and I'll use it if I encounter some compatibility problems but that's generally all.

I use Shiira basically because it looks like Safari but with more features. All I can say is give it a shot.
