I have a older iMac (2009) running the latest software Majove. Yesterday while using Safari, it froze up and I couldn't click on anything. Tried Opear and Chrome which worked fine.

Couldn't close Safari in the normal manner OR with Force Quit. Also couldn't reboot until I held the Power key for maybe 7-10 seconds when it finally turned off. Then rebooted the system again and Safari worked fine.

Wondering if anyone else had this problem? While I can't be sure, I think this was the first time "force quit" didn't work.

No, I haven't had the same problem. I did have everything hang yesterday, but it was because an intensive process was running. When it finished, everything went back to normal. Has this happened to you just that one time, or does it happen often?

same thing happened to me with safari and steaming to apple TV, i just rebooted and watched the game through my ipad. safari can be unstable in older macs as safari does not show websites in Snow Leopard while opera does.
