iPhone Safe Mode with no banner

Is there a way to put the phone in safe mode without the "Exit Safe Mode" banner in the status bar. I need to bring my iPhone 5 into the store to get my battery replaced and want to "hide" my jailbreak.

boot up while holding the volume up button. however, all your hidden apps will be shown

restarting the device normally will get rid of this "hidden jailbreak status"
