I noticed that after installing evasi0n, there is an "Upgrade" in Cydia for the untether.

The note says it's not needed if you are already untethered via the evasi0n untethered JB, however, I hate seeing that little red 1 indicator there. Makes me think I need to update something.

Will hitting the upgrade button mess anything up? I just want to lose that little indicator of an update if there really is no update available.

Thanks.

seems fine here...

Safe I've already installed it, and I had asked the same question...phone works great still after installing of the update.

Is the Weather app still working? My original jailbreak went thru without any issues, but after applying all Cydia patches and rebooting it hung coming back up. I forced reboot and then the Weather app wouldn't work. I've since restored and have jailbroken again and all is working. Want to make sure that the Cydia untether package wasn't the one that caused the Weather app issue.

The weather app is broken after you reboot your phone after jailbreaking it isn't caused by the update.

After I restored, re-jailbroke, and rebooted (though it hung and I had to do a hard reboot the first time), it came up fine and Weather was working. I then rebooted again and Weather was working. I installed the untether and Weather continued to work. I rebooted and now it's not working. Very annoying bug.

i was wondering what that indicator was. I havent updated but looks like i dont really need too am i correct?

If you need to ask maybe you should swerve jailbreaking altogether

right, because you were born knowing everything there is to know about jailbreaking and never had to ask a single question.

Of course I would ask questions but not until I have used common sense (I mean why would you stay away from an update release by the same people who released the jailbreak you have just used successfully?).

I have confirmed it with my sources that Planetbeing is working on a fix for the weather app
We must have the same 'sources' = twitter
face the reality you are not special :p

TS, I did install the update even though my 4S was working fine and no crash yet,
my weather app is bad though, but that should come on the next update.

Because updates sometimes accidentally break things. Any reason why you're so bothered by his question?

I jailbroke my iPhone5 and my weather seems to work fine.

I haven't rebooted my phone yet though... If I reboot, weather will stop working?

One more thing is... So it's safe to install that untether thing?
If I don't... My JB still be untethered?

The untether update is safe to install. I installed it right after I installed evasion, even though I didn't need it. It's basically jus for the people who were running the tethered jailbreak to get their phones untehered. If your already untethered, all it does is rewrite the exact same code you already have. I basically ran the update just to get rid of the little red update notifier thingy on the Cydia icon. So yes, it's safe to install.

The weather app is still bugged, but it it has nothing to do with that untether update.

It'll be bugged whether you install that untether update or not.

The weather app doesn't bug out right after you install the evasion jailbreak- it bugs out after you do your own iPhone reboot.

Oddly enough, the weather app widget on the notification pull down screen still does work properly. It's just the app launcher itself is bugged.

Has no effect on the rest of the phone and they are working on a patch to fix it right now.
