*sigh* I have to take my iphone in for some repair tomorrow--the vibration function AND my sleep/wake button have ceased functioning, one after another. ;_;

Anyways, has anyone had experience with taking their phone to an apple store. I have misplaced my sales receipt from my original purchase--I was wondering how anal the store is about having that on hand before performing the surgery/exchange. What's your experience with this?

Haven't tried going to the store, but I called AppleCare and they just looked up my activation date. Can't show them receipt on the phone.

Can't wait till it gets back to me.

You won't need a receipt. There is no doubt that its an apple product and they can look it up as Wyvernspirit mentioned.
