From 6 to now XS Max, 6 years.....basically still same camera sensor.......no doubt Apple is the biggest stock market cap company in the world since they really know how to make big profit from every Apple lovers....I remember this pic:

The Xs and XR have a larger sensor than X.

It’s now 1/2.55”.
 
The main wide-angle camera has a new, larger sensor. The module boasts a 1.4-micrometer pixel pitch, up from the 1.22-micrometer pixel pitch found on the iPhone X. This nearly 20-percent increase in pixel depth should greatly help with light sensitivity,

You mean the "main" camera? I didn't know it is a wide-angle camera.
