I just went to update my apps on my Macbook Pro, I am running OS X 10.10.3 and i noticed that "Pro Video Formats" has already updated 3 times.. i turned my mac off and then back on and when i checked to see if i had any updates, it is trying to update the same thing again.. what is going on? Do i not have this update 3 times in my OS already? do i need to find a way to delete the extra 2 files and also find out why its still saying it needs to update. Please help me.

Me three! I didn't notice earlier but I just checked and the Command line tools update that I installed earlier is a dup install.

I was able to fix this by downloading the update from Apple Support, opening the package file with Pacifist, selecting the top-level item, and hitting the Install button. Pacifist installed it perfectly, and the update notices disappeared.

I'm not sure what the problem was, but I noticed that the update contained Application Support files for Compressor that Apple's Installer did not install. In fact, the Installer removed the Compressor folder when I created one!

I think maybe Apple got all the file and folder permissions wrong too, because after installing with either the Apple Installer or Pacifist, Disk Utility had a lot of permissions clean-up to do.

Anyone in Cupertino actually pays attention to what they are doing there? I mean there are literally thousands of Apple users there, and not one single person has brought this issue up? How many days until someone yells that there is something wrong here. lol

I just looked again... it keeps auto updating and installing to my computer automatically over and over. its now installed 4 times and shows there is another install ready! wtf. does anyone know the location where this update installs? I want to see if it keeps making new files and folders

Thanks, this worked for me too... :)

Same problem here. I'll try the workaround posted above. I had installed the standalone of this first and then it still kept offering me it over and over again in app updates.

edit: Running the update as suggested above in standalone seems to have stopped the app update notifications. (at least for now)
