I currently have a Mac Pro 2.0ghz (quad), 6 GB RAM, and the Radeon X1900. I have two 20" dell monitors on it. I am thinking of getting the Samsung 305T and a second video card. I'd run the 305T on either the current card or a new one and the other two monitors turned 90 degrees on either side. Why? Because I can! I am aware of the resolution changes when moving from one monitor to another.

I have 3 questions:

1. Does anybody have this monitor? Mostly I am worried about input lag. Of course other variables are what kind of settings will I need to run WoW at compared to now. The only complicated game I play on my Mac is WoW. Otherwise it will be used for programming mostly. On Tuesday mornings... ;)

2. I will need a 2nd video card and am currently thinking of getting the ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT. I would run the 30" on my current video card as it has more RAM on it and such and the 2 20" monitors on the 2600 XT. Does that sound logical?

3. With 2 video cards I think I need to configure the... "lanes"? Any advice on that depending on the video cards?

Thanks!

I have been looking at the 305T to add too or replace my 24" Gateway. I had a second one but it died (what do you expect from Gateway), and while I can Wow+Hulu+Surf all at once on 24" the extra space would uncramp things especially when I toss a VM in the mix for work. I also looked at the LG W3000H, the DoubleSight DS-305W and the Gateway XHD3000. The LG and DS use the S-IPS pannel and from what I have read they are slightly less desirable for games but tend to have more true color and better viewing angles. I found the XHD3000 for ~$800 new but decided not to test fate and get burned twice. I plan on getting a 305T as user reviews have been very positive.

Why not get something better then the 2600 XT and XT1900 like a HD 3870. I just picked one up to replace my XT1900 hope to have it installed tonight.

good luck

I got the 3870 install last night, very happy. Not loud like my XT1900 even when playing WOW. I was able to bump things up a bit in Wow with out the over heating issues I had with the XT1900. I tried it both in full screen and windowed (how I usually play).
