Not bad at all. Would love to see how RAM is managed with the A3 and A5. If all goes well, they got something.

Here are my impressions:
A3: This looks great for a low-end phone. 720p display shouldn't be bad, much less scaled than the old A3, and build looks great. If it sells for the same £249 it should be great for the money. In my opinion it should have been called the A4.
A5: Looks to be a great phone for those who think the S6 is too expensive. Moves up to a Snapdragon 600 series processor (presumably) and a 1080p display. Still no word on the fingerprint scanner though. As with the A3, I wish they changed the name
A7: If this phone had come out earlier, I might have gotten it over the S6 Edge+. All the compromises are insignificant to me, apart from maybe the 16GB storage, but I still have yet to half my storage on my Edge+, so I would have been able to last a few months without an SD Card. And with the 3300mAh battery and Snapdragon 600 series processor (again presumably) this would have killer battery life compared to the Edge+

A few other opinions:
The black front and gold frame and back looks absolutely stunning. I was hoping that Apple would do this with the 6S, hopefully they can learn this time.
This is a 2016 phone, and it's coming out with Lollipop. Just why Sammy? You had and still have plenty of time to build a Marshmallow based lineup. But they completely blew it.
Please can you just give us the names of the processors? 1.6GHz octa-core processor means jack.
Fingerprint scanner? No word?
Where is the A9? I thought they said that we'll hear something about that today.

These look pretty nice. I wish Samsung would just man up and take the corporate logo off the front. In fact, we all know the Galaxy S "S" logo, just use that on the back.

I dno about it....anyone else feels that if samsung just put close to stock android they would sell way more phones?

The s6 has 3gb of ram and it still refreshes apps more than my iphone 6.

If you are going to put out a midrange phone, tone down the software so they become better value. I have the oneplus x and its amazing for a budget phone.

The mid-range space will soon become the most competitive, if not already is. Manufactures have to go all out!

As much as I would like stock android on a Samsung device the reality is Touchwiz is far more popular than critics give it credit for.

People buy a Samsung device often because they are familiar with and enjoy the features of Touchwiz, and the average consumer is far less sensitive to the issues like app refreshes / memory management that critics and mobile tech enthusiasts raise as criticism of it.

Indeed the lack of features in stock android is probably far more polarising to users than Touchwiz and its legacy issues.

Its a good point, I wish they still did google play edition devices for the enthusiast crowd.

Edit: I should also add, there is room for improvement on touch-wiz. A comparison I like to make is to windows and how when windows became really bloaty, people got fed up an left. I'd like to see the stats on how many people left samsung devices for apple devices this year.

Pretty much sums up why I prefer TouchWiz. Although I can do without a lot of the extra features, there are still some features that are quite useful without people knowing it. The gesture wakeup is quick and simple, smart stay is useful when I'm waiting for a video to load, and apps edge on the edge phones gets the job done. It's these little things (that can be turned off, just saying) that make it worth it.
