I actually think the opposite is more likely. Bigger pixels and less MP. However I see them staying at 16 MP with bigger pixels.I don't see how the S6 Edge Plus has 1 more point than the Note 5 and S6 Edge if they all have the same cameras, but good for them! I like that there's been a lot of competition in smartphone cameras recently because that means there's a greater chance for a modest upgrade from the iPhone 6s to the iPhone 7 rather than the usual slight upgrades like from the 4s to the 5 and the 5s to the 6.
What do you think about the possibility of Samsung going with a 20MP sensor with smaller 1.0um pixels?

I agree with you, but the industry just loves to show off those shiny megapixel numbersI'm pretty sure the current phones have the same 1μm pixels. But even so, I hope that rumour is false. There's absolutely no reason to go any higher than 12/13MP when you can cram bigger pixels in that sensor. Hoping that the 12MP camera with a 1/2" sensor that was rumoured to be on the S7 makes the cut. That would give it like 1.8μm pixels! Combined with OIS, that would be killer.
It's strange, a family member, with a Galaxy S6, said to me today that his phone wasn't the best in low-light, and it is in fact one of the best on a smartphone. Just proves that phone cameras in general still have room for improvement. So please, make lower megapixels the new thing!
Sometimes Samsung tweak things under the hood going from the S series to the note series. They can have the same camera specs on paper but the note series is usually better. However the Edge plus and note 5 are from the sane prduction period so I'd expect them to be the same. However I think it's pretty clear that Samsung flagships have the best cameras. Besides some instances where the color is WAY off, the S6E+ is very good.
Edit: Here is what I'm talking about. I'm not hating, just observing. Excuse the horrible image. I accidentally opened the camera and noticed the colors were incredibly warm. The door is white and the light in the room is a florescent blub, so pretty white.

Nope, mine looks okay.Did you take off the plastic ring from around the lens? Mines was actually crooked and blocking a piece of the lens.

Wow! Great to see my over a year old Galaxy Note 4 in the top 10, even ripping apart the latest overhyped "iSight" cameras.DxO Mark has wrapped up it's camera tests for the year and here are the results. No Shock for those of us who are familiar with how amazing Samsung's cameras are.

But not better than the iPhone 6S plusWow! Great to see my over a year old Galaxy Note 4 in the top 10, even ripping apart the latest overhyped "iSight" cameras.
Oh yes, just 1point behind. Excellent considering how much older the Note 4 is.But not better than the iPhone 6S plus
Is it the same camera as the LG G4? That one did well but not as well as the Note 5Actually this list is not up to date. The new LG V10 phone has the best camera to date in other tests. You can do RAW images from it as well. 1.8 lens.

I think you may be mistaken. It is the same camera with software enhancements. Hence the V10 will score exactly the same as the G4 since DXO doesn't take software into consideration (I think...correct me if I am wrong). The enhancements was also mainly to video recording (manual video controls while recording).Completely different camera.
Well either way the tests have been putting it on top vs other great phones like the samsungs or iPhones.I think you may be mistaken. It is the same camera with software enhancements. Yeah I know. It deserves it too. The galaxies and LG flagships are on par imo. Although I do prefer the more saturated colours from the galaxy's cameras.Well either way the tests have been putting it on top vs other great phones like the samsungs or iPhones.
