Forgive me if this was already posted. Has anyone else used this yet for the iPhone 8, 8 Plus?
If so, any problems? I've read so many great and no so great with this and the new phones. Yes, "slower charging" seems to be an issue...but it's not a big concern. Plus a future update could speed up the QI charging.

My fears are "hotter than normal backs of the new iPhones" (I dont know if this can affect the battery life..especially overheating, possible eventual bulging battery) *Bulging battery, pushing out the screen..I've had problems with this on IP5, IP6+ in the past...so yeah it's a slight fear.

This deal seems to be great, still on. Best Buy have these listed at $49.99 still "on sale"
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/samsun...-stand-black-sapphire/5092737.p?skuId=5092737

BUT..Best Buy matches Amazon - if that item is sold by Amazon. They charge $31.49 (Same model number)
https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Wireless-Charging-Charger-Warranty/dp/B01BMDQ9U8

It is tempting!

ALSO..another option is this older Mophie QI Charger, but I fear this may be TOO slow. The only reason why this is kind of tempting is because I have this BB&B GC I've had for ages, tack on a coupon I get every other week. It would be free.

I know I can just get these and return it..just curious is anyone has tried these yet and your thoughts.
Thanks!

I have one with zero issues, phone doesn't get hot or anything. I only charge overnight so not sure on charging speeds. One complaint is the blue light on it if it is in your bedroom, but it doesn't bother me.

I have one arriving today from Amazon. I will try to remember to let you know, PM me in a day or two if I forget :). I have two Anker pads, but not happy with either. Love all my other Anker products, but these pads seem to have a VERY small sweet spot, and get knocked off easily.

Thanks! I read the same thing about Anker also.. Some are happy, lot of not so great reviews. SAME people mentioned about "easy to knock off" and that small area where you have to find that charging spot

Thanks for the reply! The overnight charge is probably how I would use this also. The blue ambient light (lol) I just kind of had a little rant about how every device must have these darn lights now..Im a light sleeper so I would have to cover that part up.

Initially I didnt care about the Wireless charge, but after last night coming home...I get pretty tired of trying to fiddle lining up my lightning port with the connector on my older Belkin stand so the thought of just placing it down it nice!

I think I'll try this, and I'll get Best Buy to match the Amazon price (Would have been nice if they matched NewEgg's price for $25.99..but that is from a 3rd party seller, BB doesnt match that) if it doesn't work, I'll take it back.

Any Qi charging mat will work with the iPhone because it's a standard. Doesn't matter who makes it.
I know, this whole QI charing thing is pretty new to me. Some makers seem to stink, others receive good reviews - whien it comes to iPhone (other brands seem to work very well).

Plus I read about the wattage, volts on. Then I read something like this and get a little more confused.
https://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/apple-iphone-8-fast-wireless-charging/

"The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are capable of fast charging, but taking advantage of that isn’t as easy as it should be. That’s because Apple did not include the necessary accessories to be able to use the feature. To use fast charging, you need to buy and use a Lightning to USB-C cable, which is available in a 1-meter and 2-meter version. You also need to buy a USB-C power adapter like this one, which can get a little pricey."

I ended up picking up both actually, the Samsung stand and the Mophie for my car. (looks like the 3rd party lightning cable I had for the iPhone 6 Plus doesn't like the 8 Plus.) Both work fine.

Samsung I do find kind of fast right now, 2% in about 8 minutes...not bad I think. Mophie charging pad...not sure yet. It reads the phone but I had a short drive while this was on the charging pad. I still have to find better place in my car to secure this pad down.

But it's amazing how such a small little device like this becomes insanely convenient! Just plop it down . pick it up and that's it - compared to over a decade of plugging these iPhones in. :)

I ordered the Samsung from Amazon and will be getting it tomorrow. If I like it, which I feel like I will, I will be returning the Belkin Wireless pad which is double the price. I am not a fan of these pads as I hate having to center the phone properly. I have another Qi dock at work and love just placing the phone on the dock down easily.

Yeah that blue light may be tiny but it is bright! I turned off the TV, light, then had to get back up and put a tiny piece of electrical tape over that. I'm a very light sleeper and something like this would literally keep me up.

Samsung works. The Mophie I will return tonight. It reads the phone but the charge seems to be extremely slooooow! Even though it felt like it was "free" using a gift card (20% off with one of those coupons), it's certainly not worth what I paid...or $40 bucks retail!

The newer 2017 version of that samsung is their convertible charger...it has a USB-C charger and cable. It can change from stand to pad and has a fake leather cover. So far so good, but is a lil pricey at 70.

For those that find the blue light annoying at night, I stuck 3 layers of white electrical tape over it and it’s now very dim which is nice because you can still see its charging but it’s not super bright anymore.

The white tape blends in nicely with the dock and you can hardly see it.
