Depends what you are looking for and which surface you are talking about. First decide if you need a tablet for media consumption, movies, music, books, etc, that's the strong point to the ipad and android tablets. If you need a full computer the surface pro is one, but it's definitely a niche product for the power user. If you want a good media consumption windows tablet which also runs all windows legacy programs you are better off with an atom powered windows tablet such as the Lenovo thinkpad tablet 2 or the acer w510 for example. Don't bother with surface RT it has all the flaws and very few advantages of all the tablets.

sorry but I cant really have a windows 8 rt device as I need to run basic apps from windows 7:)

You're running windows 7 apps on your tablet? Surface pro and an android tablet are completely different IMO, not really comparable in most ways.

But I would like to run NORMAL pc games like minecraft and old windows 8 apps like iTunes

----------

But would the battery life last me for a full day of school which would include some games as well as using office?

I don't think the Surface Pro would last you a full day at school- you may have to look into Atom-powered Windows 8 tablets.

If you need Office and want to play Minecraft, you need to get the Surface Pro.

If you just want Office, and RT does whatever else, then you can go Surface RT.

If you want Office and other Windows apps, but dont need performance, then look into the Atom powered tablets out there.

If you dont need Office and Windows games, then take your pick between any tablet really.

I have no use for a 10" Android tablet. I do want the 8" Galaxy Note though.

Getting myself a Windows Tablet. Already bought a Samsung Ativ Windows tablet because of the s-pen and runs windows 8. However, I might return it because of the many negative reviews about it's cheap plastic feel and quality, and all about how buggy it is.

You won't see me take Samsungs side often, but does it feel cheap to you, and are you experience bugs? Most plastic feels cheap compared to Apples aluminum or Microsofts magnesium. Even S-Plastic. Nokia might be a positive exception here.

The ₪2899 for the Note 10.1 equal roughly US$790. You can buy a 4th-gen iPad for ₪2459, so I'd rather go with that.
