For those who want one like me.. FYI

The giant 12-inch Samsung Galaxy NotePro is up for order tomorrow, with the Galaxy TabPro on its way to these shores too.

You can pre-order the NotePro from this link from tomorrow, 28 January, and the first 300 people get a free gamepad worth £90. Which is nice; but what Samsung doesn't yet say is how much the tablet costs or when you can expect it to drop through your letterbox.

Hope it will be signficantly cheaper than the previously announced, near-1000 euros price. At that price, it'll be DOA as the Surface 2 Pro offers way better value for serious tablet (Wacom) users.

I'm thinking of picking one up just for the heck of it. I already have the Ativ Book 9 Plus and its wicked. So this would be just for the coffee table.

I agree. Hopefully, Samsung realizes this.

So it's available for pre-order for £650. (nearly $1100 US)

Seems rather steep, considering it looks like the Note 10.1 can be had for as little as £399 on Amazon, and a Surface Pro 2 64GB is £719.

Noone will purchase it at that price. The Surface Pro 2 is so much better value - for example, it'll receive official OS updates even 5 years later, unlike Samsung's tablet.

If Samsung thinks their extras justify the price, they're mistaken. Also, on mobiles, Android is great. As a desktop replacement, it's not. It doesn't even have cellular built-in.

Time, because it rules EVERYTHING!
Hmm well it is £650 from Samsungs own website:

http://store.samsung.com/uk/mobile/galaxy-note/galaxy-note-pro/p/SM-P9000ZKABTU

So I guess it's possible with the usual discounts it'll end up around 600 maybe? I was thinking they would price it around 500 to 550.

Then again..... the contract free 32GB iPhone 5S is £629 and the WiFI only 128GB iPad Air is £639, the 4G 128GB is £739.
As far as I can tell the pre-order model Tab Pro is a WiFi only model.

£650 is certainly Alot of money but think this will be main tablet for quite a few years as my stay at home device. Only my phone will I regularly update

The price will put a lot off though that's for sure.

I'd rather add £130 and get a 12,5" Thinkpad Yoga, IMO the best convertible ultrabook/tablet on the market.

Don't worry. Usually electronic devices are sold at a higher price in the UK.

Hope the international LTE version will be out soon. Feb 14?

Excuse me?

Ive had my iPad 2 for quite a few years now and has lasted me very nicely. I just want an extra large tablet for my home usage. My 8.0 is all I need when on the go. Having an up to date tablet every year is something that I don't need.. I need a big tablet for Internet usage, TV shows and movies and on a 12.2 tablet it would be perfect.. After having my note 3 I miss having an HD screen for my tablet

Like you, for a long time, I had an iPad 2 and wanted a hd screened tablet. So, from MR's Mrktplace, I bought an iPad 3. It is nice; it's not as fast as a 4 or Air, but it was considerably cheaper.

Although I am intrigued about this 12.2", I am not willing to spend that much for either an Android or IOS tablet. However, if you are, please report about it.

While it seems a bit on the pricey side, if you keep it for 2-3 years then it doesn't seem so bad.

I want to I really do but the price is still a question mark. I'm at the point where I can afford it right now but still alot of cash to part with. I just love the thought of a 12.2 tablet. I love my note 3 and I use my note 8.0 at work and about with my girly man bag so I would be suited in all of my tech needs.

If you wait a little while, I wouldn't be surprised that there will be a nice discount; it's priced out of most people's range for a tablet-only device. With the s pen, it could be a sweet device.

He may have meant future official(!) OS updates - something Samsung isn't exactly great in? Not that Apple would be THAT much better.

(This is why I stated that, at comparable prices, decent x86 tablets are of far better value - at least when it comes to future updates. You'll surely be able to update to the then-current OS version after, say, 4 years - assuming you purchase a decent-specced (RAM etc.) tablet.)
