Ok so I maybe jumping the iPhone ship cause of some issues I've been having (which kills me to say). But if I do I know I'd be going over the Samsung Galaxy family probably the Note 4. Now that being said I'd also probably be getting a smart watch for it. From personal experience what's the best to get Gear S or go with any old Android Wear watch?

Gears S is the most feature laden SW but its proprietary to Samsung. You also have to go into it knowing you won't get any support in terms of software updates to include new features as Samsung requires people upgrade hardware to adopt new software features.

AW is missing some features but is constantly evolving as it is a Google product and is tightly controlled (for now anyway). So as long as the hardware can support it, you'll receive them.

Before you make the switch, I advise you go into some of the threads here and see from people who have switched and see if any of the differences between the two platform apply to you.

What you need to know? I've got the gear S and very happy with it paired with my note 4

Does everything I think a smart watch should do. Lasts all day easily. Works well with fitness apps.

Love it when in the gym with my music

I've got the Gear 2 and find it very handy for notifications, controlling my music, and quick replies to texts. I can imagine the Gear S being even nicer due to its massive screen and additional functionality. That being said, Samsung have a new watch coming out that is gonna be their Project Zero for the Smartwatch. This one will be round. Definitely one to watch for.
