I posted a week ago a poll of 52 inch samsung lcd 850 or 52 inch sony xbr 6. I have the following questions for you fellow mac fans:

1) does samsung make a quality product
2) are samsung lcd reliable
3) have they reached name status like sony and apple
4) would you own a samsung over a sony

I have a 47 in samsung LCD 1080p and having it tied to the ATV, things look great. Before I got rid of cable, the HD signal from cable looked amazing. I've not had one problem with the TV. Very intuitive to deal with (I have a harmony remote anyhow). I think Samsung is definitely as good as Sony. Sony has lot more bells and whistles they have to add to get a clear picture at the same price IMO.

I got a 40" 750 having just moved to Canada and had to get rid of the old one as North America has some funny ideas about voltage and frequency! This has had absolutely no issues. Before that in Europe I had an earlier 720 line 40" that had one problem which Samsung fixed immediately under warranty with no questions.

The latest have DLNI so you can attach to your network and access a media server from the remote. The pic quality is excellent.

1) Yes, Samsung makes a fine quality product.
2) They are reliable. (from personal experience)
3) If I were considering a new TV, I would get either a Samsung, Sony, or Pioneer. They have definitely reached name status.
4) Samsung or Sony? That really depends on direct comparisons between the TV's you would buy.
