Sony's Bravia line of TVs was simply the best in quality. Don't know how true that is today.
I have a 55" Bravia that I struggle with every day. Beautiful picture, but awful functionality and bugs. I lost faith in Sony a long time ago though. I was their biggest fanboy, I'd buy everything Sony, but saw first hand their quality decline while their prices remained the highest of all product makers. It is so frustrating that I just put it in my daughters playroom and it just gets an occasional cartoon played on it these days. Although part of that is I've moved on to projectors in other rooms, you can't beat a 120" screen!
I am very eclectic when buying technology, but I like and trust Samsung a lot. I just replaced all my hard drives with Samsung EVO SSD's and really am please with their support such as the Samsung Magician program and their encryption.
I'm still bummed they abandoned windows tablets and windows mobile, but I guess they were smarter than everyone else and saw the writing on the wall. I don't think I'll ever forget the excitement of the very first modern windows tablet rivaling the iPad came out and it was a Samsung tablet with a Wacom digitizer, man they were way ahead of the times with that tablet. Staples only had 3 locked up in a cage and I got it 3 days before release date.
