I currently have owned a iPhone 6 plus since launch day and I've been honestly quite bored with apple's ios having had it since the iPhone 4s. So after considering giving android a try for the last week today I decided to pull the trigger. My curiosity got the best of me. I went and purchased the s6 edge at retail and deciding which route I was going to take within the 14 day return period. If I decided with the android I was hoping to sell my iPhone at a decent price to cover most of the cost of the s6 edge. After have using the s6 edge for about 12 (pretty much straight) hours. I have noticed these things between the 2 phones.
Pros:
- Screen - the resolution is gorgeous. Absolutely stunning!
- Love the edge on both sides, gives the look as images are rolling onto the screen if that makes sense. Much better then a flat screen IMO. - Also gives a slick classy look.
- Camera takes awesome photos.
- Multi windows support - don't find myself using it as much as I thought I would.
- Animated wallpapers.
- Totally customizable. Few android customizable settings I've been enjoying that I wish ios had.
- Gestures.
Cons:
- Within the 12 hours or so of constant use I have charged this phone about 3 full times. - Another words, battery life = terrible.
- Apps - Have most of the good ones on android from ios but missing a few important ones to me that were some of my main ones I used. (Fantastical, Clear, Money wiz 2) For me this is a near deal breaker.
- Phone not the most comfortable to hold, feels very slim, bezel around phone almost too thin to be comfortable to hold and slippery as is the iPhone 6/plus.
- Android - not the best OS, I much prefer ios.
Overall as many have heard it all comes down to whether you want ios or Android. For me after using the edge for a few hours I knew I didn't want to keep it and use it as my main phone. I like the phone - it's ok. But I do miss ios and the ease of getting around the phone, ios just feels more at home for me. I do have everything else apple products so it also helps to have an iPhone which syncs seamlessly with all the other apple devices. For me as I mentioned I will stick with the iphone. I do feel the 6 plus is still too big even after using it since Sept. So I will more then likely be getting the 6s not the plus. If your wanting an android device the s6 edge is probably the best one out as of now.
What do you guys think of the iPhone 6/plus vs the samsung galaxy s6 edge? Also would like to hear thoughts if anyone has used both. Hope this helps if anyone else is in the situation of debating to pick up a s6 or edge.
