I wonder what battery life is needed for that for a comfortable day usage. I would guess 4500mah or better. I can imagine dual batteries.
Dual batteries sounds good. Then a front screen so when it is folded users could still see their notifications without having to unfold it.

Yup, of course it will have a front screen, just like the prototype videos. The front screen will have full functionality just like any other smartphone. It would be a fail if the front screen was limited.

Cool technology that's for sure.

Not so sure I want a folding tablet though. I like a solid device, although I'd be interested to see how well it is hinged to cope with hundreds of thousands of uses. Certainly something to watch.

This would spell the end for tablets.
It is going to start a whole new category that's for sure. It will have a phablet sized phone that folds out to a mini tablet. Can't wait!

Here is the next step in mobile devices. Consolidate small tablets and smartphones. Incredible, I don't care what it costs I'll be first in line. Interesting how it might work, a 5" screen then when unfolded the other side becomes a 7" very wide screen.

Been waiting for this. But will hold off until version 2 of the device gets released. Will let someone else be the Guinea pig for what probably will be a $700-1000 beta product.

It's disappointing that Apple has become Fat and Complacent.

There's absolutely no reason for Apple to get lazy and stop innovating. With more money than any other company, to sit on it instead of spending on R&D and the future, only highlights the arrogance that infects the company.

One things for sure, Apple will be around for a very long time. Old and Slow... but very rich.

Apple rarely "innovates". They generally refine products.

There were "iPod" players before the iPod aka the Diamond (rio) MP3 player

Same with "tablets" before iPads

Same with smartphones before the iPhone

Apple's true accomplishment is programming users to adopt the mindset you choose. Becoming an excuse maker for them thrills their marketing department.

Apple does innovate, or maybe we should call it "disrupt the market", from time to time.
They just haven't done it since Jobs died.

This is the game changer I've been waiting for, ever since they showed that prototype years ago.

Add a smart pen and I'm sold....

This is very much true, Apple doesnt even have a vr headset, they are the least innovative currently.
