This is so frustrating! I have been waiting for this store! Apple wants it's signature look, SLO is saying maybe not. SLO has lost so many businesses because of its policies on design.

Better for SLO!

I disagree with dbhays.

San Luis Obispo already has a shop better than the generic little help Apple Stores - MacSuperstore at Higuera and Madonna Roads. The town isn't big enough to support another Apple shop of this size and MacSuperstore already is big on customer service. Every product (well, perhaps for some Sony digital cameras) that Apple Stores carry is already provided through MacSuperstore. Apple would do better trying to tap some larger markets that only have little hole-in-the-wall shops (like Santa Barbara).

This is another case of Apple getting greedy and sticking it to the small retailer that does a great job supporting Apple product with their whole heart while taking care of the local individual customer.

SLO has lost so much business? Believe me they know exactly what they're doing there cause as soon as anyone has an opportunity to have a store in San Luis they will put it in. The area is growing so damn fast I can't believe it. I've lived in Atascadero since 1985 and nowadays I don't even recognize the area.

And Yes, the MacSuperStore is everything an AppleStore would be go check it out, its a great store. I remember when it was just a small one room place.
