I don't think the 6GB version can work on cMP.

You can do some search in this forum.

Anyway, if a 6GB 7970 can work, I expect many people in this forum will use that (or at least talk about that). Because that will be identical to the D700 (except the 7970 will be faster).

I have the 3GB AMD Branded HD 7970 reference cardfrom MVC.

He has never offered the 6GB card, so I’m pretty sure it’s not the best choice.

I also use HD 7970 reference, works perfectly, but I would like a little more video memory.
I think, if you use 7970 6GB without MacEfi will be a good option. What do you think ?

Apparently one guy got it working in a cMP 1,1 with an external PSU. No idea if he got efi boot screens

Looks like it needs 2 x 6pin to 8 pin cables
